CONVERSATION 13 – January 31, 2025: Midlife Cafe.
Daniela Lejtneker | FEB 11, 2025

Our January 31st Midlife Café gathering was a truly nurturing experience. We welcomed two new ladies to our community. The space felt cozy, supportive, and informal. As a group, we deeply listened—offering sincere suggestions when needed or simply holding space for one another.
This is the very essence of Midlife Café: a safe and understanding space where those navigating different stages of menopause can feel supported, heard, and validated.
Resources Shared
Our conversation flowed naturally and openly, with one book recommendation standing out:
📖 Is Not Allowed to Get Old by Brooke Shields
In this candid and humorous memoir, Brooke Shields reflects on aging, societal expectations, and self-acceptance. She shares personal stories about navigating midlife, embracing change, and challenging the stereotypes surrounding women and aging. With warmth and wit, Shields encourages readers to redefine what it means to grow older and to step into this phase of life with confidence and humor.

Our next gathering will be another informal yet meaningful conversation, with a few opening questions to help spark discussion. I hope to see many of you there!
Exciting News: Be Well Collective is Expanding!
On a different note, I wanted to share that the Be Well Collective is transitioning into a more formal yoga studio starting February 17! There will be a variety of classes designed to suit everyone’s needs, and I encourage you to explore what’s on offer.
To celebrate this new beginning, we are hosting an Opening Ceremony on Saturday, February 15, from 9 AM to 2 PM. It will be a simple yet heartfelt gathering where you can stop by, say hi, and show support to the wonderful teachers who will be serving our West Chester community. I will send more details in a separate email, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Looking Ahead: A More Regular Midlife Café Schedule?
Midlife Café will continue to run every other Friday or once a month, depending on my availability. However, I’d love to explore forming a Midlife Committee to help create a more regular schedule—perhaps even weekly gatherings! If this resonates with you and you’d like to contribute, I’d love to hear from you.
Thank You for Being Part of This Community
Midlife Café truly exists because of you. If I were the only one attending, there would be no Midlife Café! I learn from you, I need this space, and I genuinely enjoy our time together. I hope connection feels as meaningful and supportive for you as it does for me.
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Warmly,
Daniela
