Revisiting Trauma, Movement & Connection

Our 17th Midlife Café gathering was a cozy, grounding circle—one of those intimate conversations where it's easy to open up, listen deeply, and feel seen.

We revisited the topic of trauma and explored the powerful therapeutic benefits of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Sharing experiences around emotional healing invited thoughtful reflection on how past events continue to shape us—and how healing modalities like EMDR can offer relief, especially during transitional times like perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.

During our conversation, one of our members shared her experience attending a retreat with S Factor – a movement practice that blends sensual dance, emotional expression, and embodied connection.
