CONVERSATION 5 – June 28, 2024 - Midlife Cafe. Weight Gain and Food Habits with Jennifer Laurence.

Daniela Lejtneker | JUL 8, 2024

menopause
weight gain
food habits

During our latest meeting, we delved into the important topics of weight gain and food habits, a subject close to many of our hearts. We were fortunate to have Jennifer Laurence, a nutritionist specializing in women's health over 40, with us to share her invaluable insights.

Jennifer emphasized the internal tug-of-war many people experience with food. She highlighted that portion sizes are suggestions, not laws, and encouraged us to consider alternative choices when cravings strike, such as going for a walk, doing a chore, or drinking water.

She also touched on the emotional relationship many have with food, suggesting that instead of reaching for food when feeling sad, angry, or anxious, we explore other alternatives like reading a book, calling a friend, listening to music, or organizing our space. Understanding the root cause of these emotions is a crucial part of the journey toward mindfulness and healthier habits.

Feel free to connect with Jennifer for more personalized advice:
